lots of food
I slept really late last night (this morning).

By late, I mean 7am. This is a problem.

I got jolted awake by my mum throwing my door open at noon, saying something about fried rice and going out. I was going to meet Esther anyway, so I dragged myself to get ready.

We went with Jayden's mother and sister to Bugis for food :> we were supposed to shop as well, but we spent the time eating hahaha. We went round the place and finally settled on Rocku Yakiniku.

Their Halloween decorations are really really cool! They have even more inside, but the lighting wasn't very good.

There wasn't a queue because we went pretty late - the lunch buffet would have started at 1.30pm, but we reached at 2.20pm and the last order was at 2.30pm.

I do like their interior, but they seated us in a corner. It was really hot, especially with the barbecue pit :( (I just googled if the word was barbecue or barbeque. It's barbecue. You're welcome.)
I wish they had given us a more central table.

Three words: so. much. meat. We didn't order any drinks, so the total came up to S$52 or S$56, I can't remember. The food was really good! Way better than Seoul Garden, honestly.

I was quite surprised that they had salmon! I grabbed it immediately, of course. It's really good! So were the mussels. And the meat. And the mushrooms. And the miso soup. Everything was great, other than us having to rush :(

The oil from the bacon strips made the fire flare up and burn everything *insert laughcry emoji*

I got a little bit bored and wandered off to find the soy sauce, but found fruits and edamame!!

I really love edamame. Theirs weren't as good as Sushi Express', but it's acceptable. The auntie got octopus and seaweed as well. For S$15.90 per adult, it's quite amazing. They even have mini udon, which I didn't get to try.

I'd recommend this place, unless you dislike the smell of charcoal grill - it's pretty strong. And make sure you get there with enough time to eat slowly. The lunch and dinner prices are different, as well.

I really do love the Halloween decorations; not many places in Singapore bother since we don't really celebrate it here. Which is such a pity. Imagine all the "neighbourly bonding" we'd get, huh?

After eating so much, you'd think we were full, right? No. Well, yes, but we still went for dessert.

My photo-taking skills are still absolutely horrid with a smart phone. I had Black Ball before, in Malaysia, before the franchise was brought over to Singapore. I think I liked it better there :(

I did say that we ate a lot.

Mum's drink was not bad - it's some cocktail that's only available for a limited time. Mine was really meh, though. It's the Banana-Mel. It was about S$8 and I think Boost's smoothies are way better at S$5.90. They even have more than TCC. Just absolute icy blandness.

They left after that, while I wandered around until 6-ish to meet Esther. I really wanted a haircut, a proper graduated bob. As I went to the MRT, my skirt got caught on someone's file and when I tried to take out my MRT card, it flew. The guy then dislodged my skirt and got my MRT card for me. It was funnier at the time, I swear.

How I met Esther was funny, too. (Sounds like a HIMYM rip off.) We both turned the corner at the exact same time and caught each other. *insert laughcry emoji* And then we wandered around the streets for a good hour before deciding where to get our hair cut. We finally decided on formula cut, on the 5th floor of Far East Plaza. I wouldn't go again, it's pretty expensive. They kinda messed up my fringe and my short hair isn't as graduated as I wanted it to be. But Esther, though. Damn, girl.

She cut off quite a bit of hair! From about below her tailbone to a little below her shoulders. You go, girl. She looked totally fabulous with the curls they gave her, and a little like a Ghibli girl, too :P I actually took longer than her to cut my hair - I'm a really fussy customer.

I wish I had the money to dye my hair as much as I wanted :( I miss my red hair a lot. Not the length, though. It was getting tiring. I can't wait till I come back from Japan to dye my hair again :)

"Boys, in particular, think they can behave in a misogynistic way with impunity and there are no consequences to their behaviour."

I'm really glad to find a feminist article in a beauty magazine. I think everyone needs to know about it - people have some sort of twisted predjudice against the f-word. Why wouldn't anyone want the social, political, and economic equality of the sexes?

"We teach girls to shrink themselves, to make themselves smaller. We say to girls 'You can have ambition, but not too much'. You should aim to be successful, but not too successful. Otherwise, you would threaten the man." ~  Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

I'm also really glad Beyoncé has made feminism more known to the general populace. Maybe more of us are realising the things we used to accept before aren't quite right.

And now, a random segue to a random spiel:
