Let's go back to the very first meeting...
I also think the email that I was shortlisted for the Chiba exchange program came during this week, as did my interview and my acceptance email ヽ(≧▽≦)ノ - Week of 8 September
I was late to the very first Chiba trip meeting :( It was really awkward and there I was, trying to inconspicuously charge my phone for a long day ahead. During introductions, I couldn't remember everyone's names. So many Chinese names >< I'm way too used to the English names with my media consumption and all. As with every introduction, my name was remembered and asked about. It's actually strange if it doesn't happen, honestly. I'll be blogging throughout the trip and will be taking photos! Am both nervous and excited. - Week of 19 September
I didn't sleep enough - was so tired the next day at the Chiba trip meeting. I didn't know which floor the Da Vinci floor was on (the 4th flour, by the way) at the main library and tried to push open a sliding door :( Some of us went for brunch after that. Everyone seems pretty nice. I'm a little stressed about the home stay and onsen for the trip, though. - Week of 26 September
Gabriel and I went to ION to meet Zi Ning and Eugenia to walk around before the bonding dinner for the Chiba trip. *insert airplane emoji* So excited! Emails of our host family profiles came today - I'll be staying with Genia. Our buddy is so cute! She drew us a card of her family members, I might do one for her too.
The rest came at the set time and we went to Aston's for dinner.
After we finished our food, I had a surprise - the group actually bought me a cupcake to celebrate my birthday in advance! I was so slow, I didn't notice until they took out the red velvet cupcake that Gabriel had asked me about earlier. He had a cupcake too, since his birthday was yesterday.
I didn't expect it at all, and it made me really happy :) We sang a combined birthday song and everyone at Aston's joined in, how cute :D - Week of 2 October
Look at how time has gone by. It's been a month since we left for Japan, and I'm finally posting everything. I can't believe this amazing experience was only 10 days - it feels so much longer. I was really excited for the trip, I moved all my plans just for it, and I think I've gained so much from it.
So, for the next 11 days, I'll be posting daily blogs from the trip. I hope you'll enjoy it as I did.
You can also read about our trip at the official blog, where two other students and I will be sharing about our time there. Labels: Chiba, chiba trip, GoGlobal: Chiba, Japan
